Budapest-based producer Új Bála returns to Czaszka with a new release entitled HOW THE COOKIE CRUMBLES. The titles of his releases and tracks are as quirky as his music. Even more so on this brand new release, which eschews the raw, dancefloor-driven aesthetics of some of his previous releases in favour of some sort of twisted Alice in Wonderland soundtrack. Then again, the 2020 reality is bizarre enough anyway, no need for some fictional scenarios. Which is not to say it lacks his idiosyncratic sense for groove and funk, just listen to Truman Capote On The Dick Cavett Show. The tape release includes an insert with an interview where Gábor speaks about his childhood (his parents having two tapes, one by Modern Talking, the other with Hungarian comedy, so he learnt about music from a music TV channel), his memorable tours (getting robbed of Oreo cookies at Copacabana beach), as well as this very album (inspired by a gig in a jazzy environment).
